Grade 3, SCP 5 to 7. Actual salary £13,902 to £14,464

We wish to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our existing Inclusion team. There are currently both permanent and temporary positions available to meet the growing need for support in the academy. If appointed, you’ll carry out a range of duties that enable students with learning needs to fully access standard and differentiated curriculum activities. Working closely with all other members of the Inclusion team, you’ll promote high standards of inclusion and learning opportunities.

As an experienced Teaching Assistant, you will be extremely well organised, IT literate and have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. It would be advantageous to be qualified to NVQ3 or equivalent and have experience of supporting students with specific needs.

Outwood Academy Portland places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development.

Our staff are dedicated to securing the best possible outcomes for every student and are enormously proud of Ofsted’s Outstanding rating awarded in 2014. The hard work of our staff means that the academy is ranked well within the top 10% of schools nationally for student progress and in 2019 83% of our students achieved Grade 4 or above in English and Maths. But that’s just the beginning.

Today we’re Outstanding; tomorrow, with your talents, we’ll be even more exceptional.
