The Public Health Division at Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) commissions a range of Public Health services and works to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities for the population of Nottinghamshire.

We have 12-month fixed term role (maternity cover) for a highly motivated person with a passion for ensuring every child has the ‘Best Start in Life’ to drive the implementation of Nottinghamshire Best Start strategy.

Qualified to degree level (or able to demonstrate equivalent experience), you will have relevant experience in Public Health or related work, and experience of building partnerships and working collaboratively with others. With a passion for improving health, you will use your excellent communication and relationship building skills to promote commitment and action from others. You will be a good communicator, highly organised and flexible, with well-developed planning and problem-solving skills.

In return, we are committed to your personal development and offer an excellent benefits package. NCC also has an NHS Pension Direction Order in place, meaning we are able to provide ongoing access to the NHS Pension Scheme (NHSPS) where we recruit eligible new joiners to public health roles who are already in the NHSPS.

The post will be hosted within the Nottinghamshire Children and Young People’s Integrated Commissioning Hub (ICH) based primarily at County Hall, West Bridgford. The Council has adopted a hybrid working strategy, enabling staff to use a blended approach of home and office working that suit individuals’ circumstances and business need. The formal office base for the post is County Hall, West Bridgford, which you will be expected to work from as and when required.
