The governors at Broomhill Junior School wish to appoint a warm, friendly, and efficient office administrator to start mid November 2019 to cover maternity leave.

The successful candidate’s primary role will be the first point of contact for visitors to the school, answering the telephone and following up enquiries as appropriate. You will be responsible for providing a high standard of secretarial and administrative support, including pupil data and school communications to assist in the smooth running of all school activities. You will undertake cash collection duties including the recording of all monies received and balanced, resolving any routine anomalies. You will also prepare and process orders resolving any routine issues that arises to ensure that stock levels are maintained. Ensure items procured are received in good order and that invoices are checked prior to being passed for authorisation. Effectively maintain electronic and manual records including student records. Provide support will annual inventory checks and complete returns to comply with statutory requirements. Other duties will include distributing emails and post, the composition and typing of letters, general typing, maintaining the pupil database (SIMS.net) and producing relevant reports, photocopying, filing, collection of funds and liaising with parents and other members of staff.

The successful candidate must have a good general education, along with a high standard of English and Maths. You will be required to use Local Authority software packages for which training will be provided. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and confidence with the use of IT independently is essential. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and a professional, but friendly demeanour. The ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative will make you an ideal candidate, as will your positive approach, cheerful disposition, common sense, patience and sense of humour!
