Broxtowe Living Well have a vacancy for an Occupational Therapist to join an established and supportive team, who work with people between the ages of 18-65 across a range of disabilities and specialisms. You will understand the vital role of the Occupational Therapist in reducing and delaying the need for long term services and identifying therapy led options to enable people to live safely and independently in their own home.

You will demonstrate a passion and commitment to achieving Occupational Therapy outcomes using strength-based approaches, promoting the principles of choice and control, personalisation and self-directed support. You will work alongside other Occupational Therapist, Social Workers, and Community Care Officers in a front line team and undertake occupational therapy assessments using a range of health and social care tools and techniques. Collaborative working with other agencies, family and health colleagues is important, and you will have a sound knowledge of relevant social care and housing legislation.

You will receive regular supervision both formally and informally from a Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist (SPOT) and you will be supported to attend training to progress your career and meet the HCPC’s CPD requirements. There is an expectation that OT’s work in partnership with colleagues across other districts to manage pressures and achieve the best outcomes for the people of Nottinghamshire.

You must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and be registered with the HCPC. For Band B, applicants will have at least 2 years’ experience as a qualified OT. A full driving license and access to a car to use for work purpose is essential (a taxi service will be provided where disability precludes this).
