We have recently undertaken a programme of improvements to support the County's Historic Environment Record (HER) and heritage advice service. We are now looking for an Historic Environment Officer (Buildings) to support the Senior Practitioner Historic Buildings and the HER Manager in providing a high quality service for both internal users and a diverse range of external customers. This post offers an excellent opportunity to work across the historic built environment, from the provision of planning advice to working with building owners and conservation groups; and from responding to HER enquiries to taking forward enhancement projects, including surveys. The ability to communicate with and present information effectively to a wide range of audiences is essential.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
