Chief Executive's
£62,788 - £70,546 per annum

In addition to your annual salary you will also receive a Market Factor payment (£10,250 per annum).

A dynamic and determined digital transformation and IT leader who will bring the direction and experience required to transform Nottinghamshire County Council’s (NCC) IT and digital ambitions into a truly customer centric service. You will develop a new and innovative technology strategy to help reshape the delivery of our services into a digital first platform for our communities, residents and vulnerable citizens in Nottinghamshire. If you are really seeking a fresh challenge, the opportunity to leave a significant imprint on our communities and have the ambition to deliver, then please contact us.

This is a significant role in shaping the future of our digital and technology services. Working as a key advisor and influencer to the senior leadership team and elected council members, you will be supporting over 60,000 users, in over 400 sites to more than 600 systems and applications with more than 11,000 corporate hardware devices supported, often working flexibly from their home, in transit or with our residents. The demand for our ICT support is always increasing and, as public services become more joined up around the needs of users.

You will be responsible for the Council’s technology capability, which is all in house and covers architecture, governance, product delivery, applications, infrastructure, customer support and customer business relationships. You will report directly to the Service Director – Finance, Infrastructure and Improvement and work closely with senior leadership team to drive forward Digital transformation across the authority.

The c150 staff are going through a restructure to be better prepared and more able to deliver the diverse and constantly changing demands placed on them. The Council’s IT Function must have its working practices and operational set-up redesigned to be able to deliver with speed and agility and manage the high demand under tough resource and budget constraints. If you are determined, know how to get to where NCC need to be to deliver the services we require and have the tenacity, experience and willingness to be in for the long term then this is your call to action.

You need to be pragmatic and be able to operate in a politically dynamic and complex environment. This is public sector, and it takes a certain kind of person to rise to the challenge of delivering commercial level practices and quality all within a limited and defined budget. You must be able to influence stakeholders, lead teams, manage differences, think strategically, act tactically when needed and be very results oriented. There is nothing so rewarding than delivering a service, in a way that others think it is not possible, and all whilst serving the residents of Nottinghamshire with whom the Council interact with 24/7.

If you have experience of defining delivering and embedding ambitious technology-enabled transformation in an organisation of a similar size, scope and complexity, we would very much like to hear from you.
