Our Reablement Team aims to maximise the independence of people who are struggling with activities of daily living due to injury or illness. This in turn helps to prevent or reduce the need for ongoing support or residential care, by supporting people to remain safe and independent in their own homes for as long as possible.

Reablement Workers complete daily visits to service users; helping them with personal and domestic care activities in ways which always encourage their ability to do as much for themselves as they can.

The work is rewarding and stimulating with ongoing training and skills development.

Applications are invited from people who:

  • Have experience of working with or caring for people with disabilities or illnesses
  • Have an understanding of the effects of ageing and ill health
  • Are flexible and able to work on their own initiative
  • Are reliable and confident working on their own
  • Can use IT devices such a smartphones and tablets
  • Have a caring and considerate nature with good communication and interpersonal skills

All staff are expected to have or work towards the NVQ level II (or equivalent) in Social Care.

Work patterns are on a 4 on/4 off rota covering 7 days a week.

All applicants must have a full driving licence and access to a car for all duties.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
