Part-Time Library Customer Service Advisor

Inspire is a Community Benefit Society delivering a range of cultural, learning and Library and Archive services across Nottinghamshire on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.

Inspire’s mission is to ‘Inspire people to read, learn and enjoy culture’.

We are looking for a flexible individual to work five hours on Saturdays at Bingham Library. Bingham Library was refurbished in 2015 and is one of our busier libraries, serving the market town of Bingham and surrounding villages.   Although you will be based at Bingham Library, there is an expectation that you will be prepared to work at other libraries and at other times as needs of the service dictate.  This may include evening events at strategic library venues.

You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, energetic and proactive in looking for ways to develop and improve library services and outcomes for customers. You will also be committed to supporting the delivery of arts, cultural and learning services delivered through libraries.

You will have experience of working with the public in either a paid or voluntary capacity, and be able to work using your own initiative as well as part of a team.  You will also have experience of using computers and should be able to use ICT competently and securely.

An interest in and knowledge of public library services, plus an interest in broader culture and learning are essential requirements of this post.
