The Public Health division at Nottinghamshire County Council commissions a range of Public Health services and works with other organisations to improve health and wellbeing in the population and to reduce health inequalities.

Are you a highly motivated with a passion for helping survivors of domestic abuse? This is an exciting opportunity to take on a Domestic Abuse role within the Public Health division at Nottinghamshire County Council.

Qualified to degree level in Public Health or a related subject, or with equivalent demonstrable experience in domestic abuse support services. You will have excellent communication and partnership working skills, and be able to develop relationships with senior staff, elected members, external organisations and partners. You will be accountable to a Senior Public Health and Commissioning Manager and will work in a complex, multi-agency environment. You will have a flexible approach and be aware of the needs of domestic abuse survivors.

You will be part of a team who deliver the Domestic Abuse Duty portfolio requirements and administer the Local Partnership Board in Nottinghamshire. The Domestic Abuse Commissioning team work closely with a wide range of stakeholders including; Districts and Borough Councils, Police and Crime Commissioners Office, Police, NHS and Voluntary and Community Sector partners.

Depending on individual circumstances postholders will initially be primarily based remotely at home or at County Hall, West Bridgford, or Meadow House, Mansfield.

Nottinghamshire County Council has an NHS Pension Direction Order in place, which means that we are able to provide ongoing access to the NHS Pension Scheme (NHSPS) where we recruit eligible new joiners to public health roles who are already in the NHSPS.
