This is both an exciting and challenging time to be a Social Worker, and we are looking for candidates who are passionate about improving the lives of the people and communities we serve. The Gedling Aging Well Team is friendly and supportive, and we are keen to welcome and develop new team members at varying point in their careers, to enhance our already strong caring and creative ethos.

As a Social Worker in the Gedling Team you will support primarily older people and people with working age dementia.

About You:

  • You will be a qualified Social Worker and highly motivated, with an enthusiasm for Social Work & equality.
  • You will need to be registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England and have knowledge and experience of the relevant legislation. 
  • You will have the ability to undertake innovative assessments and creative support planning with people, their carers and their personal support networks. 
  • You will be able to demonstrate that you can work with people in a person-centred way, using a strengths-based approach.

You will gain extensive experience of the full range of social work activity with older adults, including safeguarding practice and multi-disciplinary working. We have developed effective relationships with key professionals and health partners so that we can deliver an integrated and responsive approach to maximise the life chances and wellbeing of people. Core tasks will include assessment, support planning, risk enablement and taking an active role in the Duty system.  

We offer a supportive environment for a proactive team player to practice as a social worker. You will receive a comprehensive induction, regular supervision and appropriate training opportunities to develop your career. We have mobilised our Team and work within a hybrid model of office and home working. All Social Workers are issued with tablet devices to enable them to work more flexibly and reduce overall travel time.
