The Gedling living well Team are looking for a part time enthusiastic, highly motivated and qualified Mental Health Social Worker, preferably with experience of working with a mental health client group.  This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a specialist team offering assessment and commissioning support to people experiencing mental health difficulties in the community and in planning discharge from psychiatric hospitals.

The successful candidate will work in a strength-based way and aim to make a real difference to the lives of Adults with Mental Health needs and their carers. There may be a requirement at times to support work within the other specialisms within the Team, including Physical Disabilities, Learning Disabilities and ASD. Support to develop skills in these areas will be provided.

You will work in accordance with the following legislation: The Care Act, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act. Good Communication, time management and IT skills are essential.

The team has a long history of multi-disciplinary and partnership working with other agencies. As this can be a complex and at times challenging client group you will need to have experience in positive risk taking and risk management. You must be able to cope with continuing change in the working environment. You will also undertake Adult Safeguarding investigations and present reports for mental health tribunals. This is one of the most rewarding service areas in social work and the team offers good support within a friendly atmosphere. You will receive regular supervision and have access to appropriate training and opportunities for personal development.
