The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way. 

This role sits within our children and young people directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us lead and manage the Safe Time service. Working with us to develop innovative practice to support our work across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced person to join our dynamic, ambitious team. 

A key part of this role will be your ability to: -

  1. To lead a team of Counsellors/Therapists in developing and maintaining effective practice and delivery of therapeutic support to children and young people.

  2. To plan, allocate and manage workload and resources, ensuring oversight of all cases is maintained at all times.

  3. To support and manage Staff practice and performance, through supervision, performance reviews and personal development plans.

  4. To actively engage in all Safeguarding issues in line with The Children’s Society Safeguarding Framework.

  5. To be responsible for ensuring practice and case recording are in in line with organisational policy and procedures.

Experience

  • Relevant experience in working with child sexual abuse and exploitation
  • Supervision and Management of staff
  • Project/service management

Qualifications

Relevant professional qualification such as Social Work, Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy, Psychology, Youth Work or Nursing and or significant relevant experience.
