The Ashfield and Mansfield Community Mental Health Team are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join them in providing social care services to people with mental health needs.

The team covers a busy area of Nottinghamshire and provides an exciting opportunity to undertake a variety of practice experience within a supportive team. This includes assessment and commissioning as well as preventative and Reablement services to people with mental health needs aged between 18 and 64. There is a significant amount of safeguarding work as well as work related to the Mental Capacity Act, Social Circumstances reports and Hospital Discharges. The team has a good record of working co-operatively with other agencies and is looking to continue to build on this to improve the service provided to people with mental health needs.

The person appointed will be required to provide supervision and support to team members and also hold a small complex caseload. They will also be expected to undertake some management responsibilities within the team such as acting as Duty manager, attending meetings and providing leadership in the development of the team’s policies and practice. They will also be expected to undertake duties as an AMHP or Best Interest Assessor.

In return the appointed worker will be provided with regular support and supervision and access to relevant training and development opportunities including the development of services within the district and across the county. There is a commitment to ensuring that whilst challenging and exciting the overall workload will be manageable. 

The person appointed will need to show that they are a registered Social Worker with at least 2 years’ experience at Band B level. They will need to be a qualified Best Interest Assessor or Approved Mental Health Professional as well as holding a driving licence and access to a car to undertake their duties.
