The Head Teacher and Governors are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to work in our friendly and successful school. Our school is a warm welcoming community who are committed to ensuring our children ‘Learn, grow, achieve, together’.

You will be expected to have a flexible and creative approach to situations, be a great team member and communicator, but above all have a passion in supporting the wellbeing and development of our children. The working hours will be Mon – Thurs 12.00 – 3.30pm and then Friday 8.30 – 3.30.

We are looking for:

  • A teaching assistant who is committed to inclusion who believes all children can achieve.
  • A dedicated, sensitive individual to work on a 1-1 basis with a child with additional needs.
  • Someone with the ability to facilitate emotional and well-being support alongside learning.
  • This role will involve providing daily personal and intimate care.
  • This post will also require some manual handling and physical assistance to help support the pupil. Some of this will take place at floor level, so the ability to easily get on and off the floor easily is desirable.
  • Someone who is willing to be trained in using specialist medical equipment.
  • Prior experience of working with children with physical and medical disabilities is not necessary, but would be useful.
  • Someone who is confident and has a positive attitude even during some challenging moments.
  • Someone able to liaise with class teacher, outside agencies and parents to help develop individual education plans and contribute to educational reviews.
  • Someone to support with facilitating learning needs to ensure rapid progress.
  • Someone who supports our beliefs that core values and our own school Rainbow Values should underpin all we do and are at the heart of all aspects of school.
