We are looking to recruit Main stream foster carer for a 8 year old boy who is currently placed in residential care. Child K has a great sense of humour and people warm to him very easily. He likes to read and especially enjoys story time. Child K has had a number of placement breakdowns and as a consequence experiences emotional and attachments issues due to his feelings of rejection.Child K would need a placement without any children or pets.

All foster carers are required to undertake training and an assessment as part of the approval process which takes approximately six months from date of application.

Experience of working with young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs, either in a related professional context (e.g. teaching, youth work, social care) or as an experienced foster carer is desirable.

The financial package will be looked at as part of the assessment process and will be based on the skills and experience of the applicant and the needs of the child whom they are being linked to.

If you are an existing foster career for another agency we would be happy to discuss the possibility of you transferring to us. You would be supported by your own Notts CC Supervising Social worker and received all the benefits of fostering for the local authority.
