National C of E Academy, Annesley Road, Hucknall, Nottingham, NG15 7DB
NJC Salary Scale - Grade 5 - Scale Points 15-22 Pro-rated salary £22,134 – £25,180 (FTE £25,878 – £29,439)

Start date: September 2023 or Easter 2023 if possible

Due to the continued development of our SEND provision, we are looking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated colleague to join us at The National Academy as an Assistant SENCO to work within our inclusion department. SEND provision at The National Academy is at the very heart of what we are about as a school, hence the recent physical relocating of the SEND unit to sit at the centre of the school site and the recruitment of a colleague to this new role.

The successful candidate would be responsible for helping to lead the department in supporting KS3 - 5 students across faculty areas to ensure they achieve the highest possible outcomes. While they would deputise for the SENCo in some areas, they would have ownership of others, as laid out in the JD.

To apply, you should already have experience of working in a secondary school context, relevant qualifications and a proven track record of continued professional development. While some form of leadership experience is desirable, it is not essential. Likewise, experience of exam access arrangements is also desirable.

The successful candidate would receive:

  • Full support and induction;
  • Excellent CPD opportunities;
  • Further leadership openings if appropriate;
  • A strong and caring ethos among staff and students;
  • Strong leadership at senior and middle levels;
  • A well-being package;
  • Networking opportunities across the MITRE trust.

Please contact the Head of Inclusion, Ms Clare Stones [cstones@nationalacademy.org.uk] to arrange a visit or a further discussion.

Applicants should apply via the TES website and follow the guidance notes provided. For further information please contact hr@mitretrust.org.uk
