Woodthorpe Infant School is an outstanding school of 180 pupils, which is seeking to appoint a warm, friendly dedicated Deputy Head Teacher on a permanent, full time contract from 1 September 2024. The position will involve responsibility for a KS1 class for part of the week and leadership responsibilities for the remainder of the week. The role will also involve responsibility for a core subject and overseeing OPAL.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about education for every individual; who will care for and nurture each child whilst fostering their positive attitudes to learning, provide a stimulating and challenging environment and embrace the ethos of the school.

Our deputy head should be:

•  Friendly, approachable and motivated   
•  An excellent practitioner and have high expectations and good behaviour management strategies
•  Experienced in teaching in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 and understands their learning needs
•  Organised, well planned and have good time management skills
•  Experienced in monitoring and evaluating standards in classrooms and across the school 
•  Able to lead and manage colleagues in teaching and learning, including CPD
•  Able to work with the Head and Governors and other leaders to plan and self-evaluate
•  Reflective and self-evaluative
•  Passionate about learning
