We want to recruit exceptional candidates with relevant experience, energy and enthusiasm for our work. Recently rated as Good by OFSTED, Nottinghamshire has a dedicated countywide Looked After Children Service. This post is for a qualified social worker to join a stable and supportive Looked after Children Team which is based at Ollerton. The social worker will hold a caseload of looked after children, and will undertake direct work with children and young people; attend and write reports for Looked After Children reviews and work closely with foster carers, placement providers and colleagues in the virtual school and health to provide an excellent quality of care for our children in care.

You should have an understanding of the legal framework, regulations and guidance relating to looked after children/care leavers. You will need to be competent in communicating with children. Social Workers will have the opportunity to develop their skills and interests through high quality training and support. OFSTED noted that “morale amongst social workers in Nottinghamshire is high” and this is a testament to the package that we offer, which includes:

  • Manageable caseloads
  • Regular and effective supervision
  • Mobile working and improved work/life balance
  • Good levels of business and admin support
  • A comprehensive range of CPD options, including links to local Universities
Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
