The Nottinghamshire Pension Fund is responsible for providing a full pension scheme administration service for active and deferred members, pensioners and beneficiaries of the Nottinghamshire Local Government Pension Scheme.  The Fund also provides support to over 330 Scheme Employers.

The GMP Project is a national requirement initiated by HMRC which impacts all Public and Private sector Pensions Funds who were contracted out of additional state pension. The Nottinghamshire Pension Fund now requires a Project Manager to manage the reconciliation of its Pension Fund data with HMRC GMP data.

The Pensions Fund has agreed a contract with the Funds Software Provider to support the reconciliation project and you will be required to support the management of both the contract and the project using Prince 2 Project Management methodology.

The role will lead and manage the delivery of the project objectives and key deliverables, along with providing advice on the reconciliation process and making recommendations for preventative and corrective action in line with the GMP reconciliation requirements.

You will liaise with the Software Provider (Project Partner) on the management of project schedules, timescales, milestones and dependencies, as well as managing all governance and reporting for the project. You will need to work closely with the Pension Management Team, establishing good working relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure progress is being made to deliver the expected changes and benefits and that key deliverables are met and are kept within the defined scope of the project.

The post holder will also be required to effectively manage the project budget and work with the Pension Manager to develop a communication plan to enable the communication of outcomes to Pensioners, deferred members, and active members of the Nottinghamshire LGPS Fund.

It is essential that you have experience of project management in particular Prince 2 and an understanding of a pension’s environment ideally in Local Government.

More information about the project is available by viewing the GMP Project Report presented to Pensions Committee on 8 March 2018

For an informal discussion please speak to Jon Clewes, Pension Manager on 0115 9773434 or email jon.clewes@nottscc.gov.uk
