The Bassetlaw Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) is looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join them in providing social care services to people with learning disabilities.

In order to be appointable after interview, you will need to demonstrate that you are a registered Social Worker with at least 2 years’ experience at Band B level. You will need to be a qualified Best Interest Assessor or Approved Mental Health Professional. You need to hold a driving licence and have access to a car to undertake your duties.

You will be required to provide supervision and support to team members and also hold a small complex caseload. The team covers a large area of Nottinghamshire and provides an exciting opportunity to undertake a variety of practice experience within a supportive team. This includes assessment and commissioning including preventative and promoting independence services to adults with a diagnosed learning disability aged over 18. Some of the adults have additional disabilities and needs including mental health diagnoses, physical disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, etc.

There is a significant amount of safeguarding work as well as work related to the Mental Capacity Act, Social Circumstances reports and Hospital Discharges. The team has a good record of working co-operatively with other agencies and is looking to continue to build on this to improve the service provided to people with disabilities and their carers.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated.
