Nottinghamshire County Council Building Cleaning Service, in conjunction with the governors at the Brierley Forest Primary and Nursery School, are looking to appoint a Site Manager to lead the existing Caretaking and cleaning team. This is a split shift job which includes maintaining three school buildings to a high standard, identifying and overseeing day to day maintenance work, and the co-ordination of larger projects. We are looking for someone who is a good communicator and who can work well with contractors and other visitors to the school. You must have the ability to meet deadlines, work in a busy environment calmly and to have a positive outlook. You should have a keen eye for detail, be able to demonstrate a practical knowledge of DIY/handy person and janitorial skills, have a working knowledge of Health and Safety issues and be able to keep up to date with any required paperwork. We are looking for someone who is well organised, can work independently closely with the School Business Manager and is able to use their initiative. You will also be the main key holder with responsibility for responding to alarm activations and the security of the site.

At Brierley Forest Primary and Nursery School, we aim to provide a caring place where children are safe, happy, valued and have a chance to grow and thrive. We can offer you support including mentoring and induction, a fantastic team of staff and governors who want the very best for our children and a welcoming working environment.

Previous experience of this type of work would be advantageous. We are looking for someone with a high degree of commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for staff, pupils and visitors to the school.

A tied accommodation may be available with the post. This is a three bedroomed bungalow that is situated on the main road next to the School.

Visits to the site are warmly welcomed to the school which will give you the opportunity to find out about our work and how you could contribute to the future development of the school.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
