Small Steps Big Changes, NCVS, 7 Mansfield Road, Nottingham, NG1 3FB
Band 4 - £21,089 - £23,761 per annum

Small Steps Big Changes (SSBC) is a 10 year ‘Fulfilling Lives - A Better Start’ (ABS) National Lottery Community Funded Programme.

It is a partnership programme between CityCare (accountable body for the funding and employer of the team) the City Council, the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the VCI sector and parents.

It’s an exciting and pivotal time to be joining SSBC; the programme is four years old and we are now growing our team to support our local ambition for babies, children and families and to meet National Lottery Community Fund priorities.

We have solid foundations in place, new Strategic Leadership and Senior Management appointed and have reframed our team to realise our ambitions. We now require an outstanding individual to join our engagement team.

Do you want to contribute to transforming the lives and life chances of children within 4 Wards of Nottingham? Are you inspired and motivated by new challenges?

Are you committed to genuine co-production with local communities, statutory bodies and VCS partners?

Do you have the skills, attitude, experience and knowledge to engage families and our partner workforce in our programme? You will work alongside our other two Engagement Officers and a new Senior Engagement & Participation Officer to complete the team with the Workforce & Organisational Development Manager. Together we will drive engagement around SSBC themes and outcomes and help develop the communities we work in.

You will need to be great at engaging people, working collaboratively, organising events and showing initiative as there is no manual for how we do things in this programme! You will get great exposure to work with people at all levels across the workforce, variety of your work and working in a very friendly team in the central SSBC office and with Family Mentors in our wards. SSBC works with expectant parents, families, professionals and a wide range of partner agencies to position child development at the heart of our programme as a primary public health issue. It will build on the intrinsic motivation of parents to be the best they can be and capture this key ‘teachable moment’ to prepare and support parents to achieve the best outcomes for their children. At SSBC we are committed to engaging with fathers and male carers in all our work, therefore all staff have an important role in supporting father-child relationships and a commitment to this is essential.

Does this sound like you and what you want from your work? If so, this is a call to action to join us and make a lasting difference to Nottingham!
