A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work with the Single Handling Project in the South of the county, for Nottinghamshire County Council. The Single Handling Project works closely with the innovative Central Reviewing Team and focuses on improving service user outcomes by reviewing their occupational therapy needs, with a particular focus on moving and handling. The project has access to the latest specialist equipment that can enable a person or their carer to do more for themselves and as such, is able to deliver cost savings to Adult Care. The project is led operationally by the Principal OT, OT professional supervision is available, with additional training and skills development for the successful applicant, to enable them to deliver enhanced moving and handling interventions, commission and demonstrate the use of the specialist equipment.

The post is full time (part time applicants are also welcomed), and includes the requirement to work across a 7 day shift pattern, if necessary. Applications are welcomed internally and externally, secondments may be considered if it will add value to NCC. Applications are welcomed from health colleagues who may wish to enhance their moving and handling experience in the community social care setting, as part of their professional development.
