We are looking for a dynamic Information Governance Advisor to play a key role in our Information Governance Team. You will work as an information governance business partner, working with one of our four departments, guiding and advising different service areas to apply good, compliant practice to the information they collect and use.

A key part of the role will involve supporting the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments and Information Sharing Agreements. You will also provide sound advice and guidance to the business using their good working knowledge of information governance.

We are looking for applicants with a positive “can-do” approach, who can multi-task, navigate practical problems and work with limited supervision. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to present information in a clear and uncomplicated way is important, as is the ability to communicate effectively, secure buy-in and challenge appropriately.

Nottinghamshire County Council has adopted a hybrid working model and has excellent ICT infrastructure to enable remote and flexible working.

This is a first-class opportunity to join a leading local authority and make a positive contribution to the way we do business.

For an informal chat about this role, please contact Jason Monks, Acting Data Protection Officer on 0115 9773212 or Tim Boden, Senior Information Governance Advisor on 0115 8042192.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
