Minster View offers 52 week residential provision for 7 children between the ages of 7 and 18 and short term breaks provision for another 5 aged between 4 and 18. It can also provide day care.

If you are the person we are looking for, you will embrace the opportunity to change the lives of children and young people who access Minster View. All the children and young people who access Minster View have a significant learning disability and associated challenging behaviours. All the children and young people that we look after at Minster View attend special schools.

About you

The successful candidate will lead in developing and implementing the philosophy of the home, contribute to the development of services for children, young people and families and participate in reviewing the effectiveness, quality and equality of service delivery.

To achieve this, we are committed to recruiting an inspirational, creative, passionate and resilient leader who, like us, believes that change is always possible. You will need to believe that each child and young person who receives a service from us has the right to grow, develop, enjoy new opportunities and achieve positive outcomes becoming valued and valuable individuals.

You need to possess passion for the voice of children and young people to be heard. You must have vision, empathy and humour and be able to ensure that the care, safety, development, support and well-being of children and young people is at the heart of everything you do. Whether they are residential or short breaks, you will make sure our children and young people benefit from high levels of emotional, health and physical care.

You will be able to evidence in your application form your understanding of the full responsibilities of meeting the relevant regulations and standards as a Registered Care Manager.

You will lead a large team of residential and support staff. Part of your role will be in working in partnership with other agencies and being involved in attending strategy events and working corporately with senior managers in the organisation.

You will have had a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a residential setting, and three years within a managerial position. You will hold the QCF level 5 Diploma in leadership and management for Residential Childcare or a social work qualification and a leadership and management qualification equivalent to level 5. We will accept candidates with a social work qualification only, but you will be expected to undertake the level 5 Diploma within a year of your start of employment.
