The Joseph Whitaker School is a popular, oversubscribed school of over 1300 students with attainment levels above the national average at both GCSE and post 16. We were inspected in March 2019 and the school was again judged as being “good”.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a Behaviour and Cover Support Assistant to work within Student Services and alongside the Pastoral Team. The successful applicant will be expected to remove any barriers to learning for students, provide a calm and purposeful environment when covering for absent colleagues and work within a team environment to maximise student achievement.

This post would suit someone who already has experience, or someone who is looking to develop their experience, of working in a secondary school setting.  Applications from those who may be considering becoming a classroom teacher in the future are welcomed; this vacancy has arisen due to the current post holder, along with some other previous post holders, commencing their Initial Teacher Training, at our school this September.

Candidates are more than welcome to visit the school at any time and/or please view our school website Welcome to The Joseph Whitaker School - The Joseph Whitaker School.

A Job description with further information about the role can be downloaded below. An application form can be downloaded below or by visiting the Trust website East Midlands Education Trust - Vacancies (emet.uk.com). Applications must be made on an EMET application form. CVs will not be accepted. No agencies.

Please send completed applications forms to recruitment@emet.uk.com.

The closing date for applications is midday on Friday 17th June 2022.

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. The School looks to employ well-qualified staff who are willing to contribute to the full life of the school and who are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process.

This vacancy is closed to applications.
