We are looking for tomorrow’s leaders to join our dynamic service that is at the forefront of new strategic thinking on how to fully develop the role played by Trading Standards. We are combining a commercial approach to business support and income generation with a range of innovative Trading Standards problem solving work to protect our communities.

Ideally you will have the DCATS qualification or an equivalent Trading Standards qualification (DTS or DCA). However if you are a part-qualified Trading Standards Officer (TSO) seeking an opportunity to take your career to the next level by completing your Trading Standards qualification we would like to talk to you. We have a strong record of developing and advancing officers through our career scheme and are well placed to provide the varied range of mentoring, experience and support needed. Our ambition is to develop our dynamic highly skilled workforce to be well positioned to meet the exciting new challenges ahead.

We are also particularly interested in receiving applications from TSOs with previous Animal Health enforcement experience.

If you are a flexible enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills and the leadership qualities to support other officers to achieve the best outcomes for our communities this could be the role for you. With two Enforcement teams and our Commercial Services team we are seeking flexible officers who are as comfortable identifying and maximising commercial income earning opportunities as with a traditional public protection ethos.

For an informal discussion about these interesting career opportunities for qualified or part-qualified TSOs please contact: Sarah Houlton, Team Manager on 0115 8041147 or via email sarah.houlton@nottscc.gov.uk

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
