Nottinghamshire County Council Building Cleaning Service, in conjunction with the governors at Hillocks Primary and Nursery School, are looking to appoint a Site Manager to lead the existing cleaning team.

This is a split shift job which includes cleaning and maintaining three school buildings to a high standard, identifying and overseeing day to day maintenance work, and the co-ordination of larger projects. You will be working Monday to Friday, 6am – 9.30am and 2pm – 6pm.

We are looking for someone who is a good communicator and who can work well with contractors and other visitors to the school. This year, the school will be embarking on a number of building projects which you will oversee. You must have the ability to meet deadlines, work in a busy environment calmly and to have a positive outlook. You should have a keen eye for detail, be able to demonstrate a practical knowledge of DIY and janitorial skills, have a working knowledge of Health and Safety issues and be able to keep up to date with any required paperwork. We are looking for someone who is well organised, can work independently and is able to use their initiative. You will also be a key holder with responsibility for securing the site.

At Hillocks Primary and Nursery School, we aim to provide a caring place where children are safe, happy, valued and have a chance to grow and thrive. We want you to work positively with staff, pupils and parents and are looking for someone to join our team. In return we can offer you support including mentoring and induction, a fantastic team of staff and governors who want the very best for our children, regular opportunities for CPD and a welcoming working environment.

Previous experience of this type of work would be advantageous, and ideally we are looking for someone with a high degree of commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for staff, pupils and visitors to the school.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office on 01623 480785 to make an appointment.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
