The Business Support Service provides a range of critical functions which enable the Social Care teams to carry out their work with the children, young people and families of Nottinghamshire.

We are looking to fill one full-time vacancy and one part-time vacancy (Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays) and require people with a range of experience to provide administrative support to busy social work teams. This work is often challenging but rewarding. As an experienced administrator you will require a broad range of skills including excellent keyboard skills and have proven experience of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and other I.T systems.

You will be organised, able to work on your own initiative and possess good problem solving skills. You will demonstrate a professional and flexible attitude, with a full appreciation of the need for confidentiality. You will be able to prioritise a varied workload, working quickly and accurately to deadlines. Duties will include data input & manipulation, typing, taking phone calls and signposting effectively, general administrative tasks and assisting other business support colleagues at times of exceptionally high workloads/staff shortage. You should have excellent communication and customer service skills, be able to deal with people sensitively who may be in distress and treat customers and colleagues with respect and consideration. The ability to work flexibly within a team is essential.

Please provide examples within your application to demonstrate you meet all of the criteria.

This post is also available as a secondment opportunity to existing NCC employees, who will require approval from their line manager prior to applying.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
