Design & Technology Technician (2 posts)

Queen Elizabeth’s Academy is looking to appoint two motivated individuals to join our Design Technology Department as Technicians to support and complement the teaching and learning of our students. Both roles are part-time positions, working during term time only.

Position 1 (Woodwork/Engineering): 22 hours per week, term time only. Salary: Grade 3 (Actual salary £8718 to £9357)

Position 2 (Food/Textiles): 15 hours per week, term time only. Salary: Grade 3 (Actual salary £5944 to £6380)

The purpose of the roles will be to work under the direction of the Head of Department, to co-ordinate the use of practical resources and facilities and provide assistance and advice in meeting the practical needs of the Design and Technology curriculum. Key duties for both roles are:

•  Classroom Servicing
• Health & Safety
• Advisory
• Administration

 The ideal candidate will:

• Have knowledge of current health and safety legislation (a related certificate would be advantageous)
• be an excellent team player
