Hucknall Flying High Academy are looking to appoint 2 Teaching Assistants (grade 3 - all year round) to assist in our Early Years and Extended Provision, through two exciting positions that we have created to cater for our growing school community. One of the posts is required to work from 7am-1pm, covering our Breakfast Club and moving onto assist in the Early Years unit for the rest of the morning. The second post will be required to work from 12:15pm to 6:15pm working in the early years until 3pm and then moving on to work in the After-School Club. We are looking for Teaching Assistants who would provide a high quality, interactive and memorable learning experiences for the children in our school. Hucknall Flying High Academy, is part of The Flying High Partnership which consists of two distinct parts: Flying High Trust and Flying High Futures. Flying High Trust is a Multi Academy Trust of 30 primary schools across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Nottingham City. Our Flying High family work hard to deliver the best possible opportunities to our children. Flying High Futures provides professional learning internally for staff across the Trust, and externally through Department for Education national programmes. Forming part of Flying High Futures is the Flying High Teaching School Hub, Flying High English Hub, and the Flying High cohort of Inspiring Leaders teacher training.

We are looking for someone who:

•    Has a level 3 qualification Teaching Assistant qualification.
•    Is passionate about working with children.
•    Is interested in education and impacting on the lives of children.

•    Is able to adapt activities to respond to the strengths and needs of all children.

Your core duties will be:

•    Working with the Extended School Manager to create plans to deliver activities, providing ideas of how to enrich children’s learning through play.
•    Preparing the Extended Provision working with the Extended School Manager to create a rich and stimulating environment for meaningful play.
•    Supporting children to grow, learn and develop in an environment rich with opportunities, high expectations and fun.
•    Encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
•    Encouraging pupils to act independently as appropriate.
•    Supporting the needs of every child, with the expectation that every child can and will succeed.
•    Supporting the development of early reading.
•    Taking a lead role to support pupil mental health, engaging in ELSA training to support with this.
•    Preparing the classroom environment as directed for lessons and assisting with the display of pupils’ work.
•    Being aware of pupil barriers to learning, progress, achievements and able to adapt activities as discussed with the class teacher.
•    Supporting the teacher in managing pupil behaviour and supporting the needs of the children.
•    Supporting pupils in their learning in all areas of the curriculum.
