Could YOU be part of a dedicated and committed team providing support to disabled children, young people and their families both in their own homes and accessing their local community?

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and team-oriented people to appoint as Senior Support Workers (Team Leaders).

We are offering an exciting opportunity for you to be part of the new Integrated Childrens Disability Service – Early Support Team. Working in a dynamic, forward thinking and creative way to deliver individual support packages to families, where you will have excellent opportunities to develop your skills.

The Early Support Team plays a key role in the delivery of graduated support for disabled children and young people where they are at the heart of all we do.

We’d love to hear from you if you are committed to delivering personalised support packages; have well developed communication skills, are dynamic and creative, self-motivated and have experience of working in a care environment.

You will need to be highly-organised, flexible and able to build excellent interpersonal relationships with families and colleagues alike. This role will be the first point of contact for families and staff, and so the ideal candidate will be able to manage difficult conversations tactfully, respectfully and effectively. You will receive regular supervision and be part of a supportive team environment.

The post holder will lead and supervise a team of front line support staff and case manage the children / young people supported by those staff. This role is community-based therefore will require continuous travel across the county so a driving licence and use of a vehicle is essential.

The post holder will be part of a team of 8 senior support workers and will work a rotating shift pattern, includes mornings, evenings and weekends. There will also be some overnight on-call shifts.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
