WORK LIFE BALANCE

We expect all our staff to work hard but we also expect them to gain a healthy work life balance. For this reason we keep this as a priority in our school development planning.

We have reduced staff meetings to fortnightly.

We have invested in ready planned maths, spelling and phonics schemes to reduce planning time.

We have reduced parent’s evenings to 1 formal meeting a year and 2 flexible open classrooms straight after school.

We have reduced the length of reports to one page.

We have invested in an electronic assessment system that links directly to the National Curriculum.

We welcome working parents to attend their own children's key events, whenever possible.

This position is designed for a passionate, enthusiastic and charismatic Year 4 teacher and ideally suited for an experienced teacher who can bring firm and fair behaviour management skills, a passion for improving outcomes and an interest to deliver high quality teaching to a Year 4 class.

I am particularly interested to recruit a teacher keen to move into a management position within the next two to three years and help them flourish to become outstanding practitioners and leaders with the right support and guidance from the leadership team. As a new member of staff you will be offered a tailored induction programme as well as an extensive training programme that will help benefit the next steps of your career.

As a Year 4 teacher you will take on an amazing class of 25 children and help further develop their education.

The school itself is based in Eastwood within Nottinghamshire. The school is 2 form entry and growing. It is housed in a large building with quality computing facilities, a sports leader, 2 halls, huge grounds and space to take your learning outside of the classroom. Our catchment area has some levels of deprivation and challenge and as a teacher at Brookhill Leys, you are occasionally the most consistent adult in a child’s life and the one to make that positive difference to their life chances.

I am keen to appoint someone early so that you can be involved with the staff team and feel “part of the family”.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification.
