We have an excellent opportunity for a HR practitioner seeking a supportive working environment that will allow them to broaden their experience in a busy team to build and establish a career in HR.

You will join a collaborative and friendly team providing HR support and advice for the authority’s managers, schools, employees, and external customers.

The focus within the role will be employee relations support, specifically attendance management.  It is desirable that you possess a relevant HR qualification or be working or be willing to work towards a professional Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development qualification for which support will be given. You will be well organised to meet deadlines and problem-solve, be self-motivated and able to build excellent working relationships with colleagues and our customers.

What does the day to day look like?

  • Working within a Hybrid model but office based at County Hall, West Bridgford.
  • Holding a caseload of attendance management casework and working with corporate managers and school leaders to bring the cases to a resolution.
  • Providing general HR support and advice by working as part of the teams’ HR Help Desk to resolve initial queries.
  • Working in conjunction with HR colleagues on a broad range of more complex HR casework with a pragmatic and flexible approach.

What we are looking for - someone who:

  • Is seeking to further develop their HR skills and experience.
  • Has a minimum of two years’ experience in providing HR support and advice or who has worked in allied fields such as recruitment or payroll.
  • Has experience of delivering HR services within a large complex organisation, preferably local government/public sector, but not essential.
  • Has a relevant HR qualification or is working or is motivated to work towards CIPD Level 5.
