Nottinghamshire Youth Justice Service are recruiting two temporary Case Managers one to the West Team, primarily covering the Mansfield and Ashfield areas although there is an expectation to travel across Nottinghamshire County this post is for 21 Months. The other post will cover Gedling, Rushcliffe and Broxtowe which will be until March 2025.

First rate communication skills coupled with child-centred values are essential. Partnership working is at the core of Youth Justice work, thus the ability to work with and influence professionals in a variety of settings is a core skill set. 

The successful candidate will also have excellent skills in relation to working with young people and families, sound knowledge and understanding of the Criminal Justice System and proven experience of working to address risks and needs within the family setting. 

The role involves managing a caseload of vulnerable young people, some of whom are subject to court orders, thus the ability to produce high quality assessments and reports to inform decision making across a number of areas, including diversion, the Courts, community orders and resettlement, is essential.   

Nottinghamshire YJS deliver an accessible service which is responsive to the needs of children and families and integrated with local partners’ ways of working. Candidates will, therefore, be willing to work flexibly with there being an expectation to work evenings where required.  This post will include a focus on working with partners to divert young people from offending and reducing the risk of criminalisation, with working practice and patterns adjusted accordingly. 

Furthermore, this post requires a formal relevant professional qualification e.g. Social work, Probation or an NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a closely related field. In addition to this you must evidence your relevant experience for the role.
