The Maximising Independence Service (MIS) is a therapy led, all age service which focuses on early resolution, prevention and promoting independence and wellbeing. The aim of the service is to help people to maximise their independence as much as possible by providing information, advice and guidance, setting short term goals and identifying support to achieve goals .

If you are enthusiastic about contributing to change looking for a development opportunity and motivated to be part of the development of MIS then this exciting opportunity is for you. The preferred candidate will be skilled in strength-based approaches to embed the ethos of promoting independence and wellbeing in the prevention and delay for the need for ongoing care and support. An essential part of this role is the development, supervision, coaching and leadership of staff through change, enabling them to understand what is expected of them in supporting the people of Nottinghamshire to identify and achieve their goals.

You will have a Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Mental Health experience would be advantageous but not essential to your application. You will have at least 2 years of working as a qualified experienced Band B Social Worker or equivalent. Experience of complex casework responsibility including safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act, Continuing Healthcare and risk enablement.

You will receive regular supervision both formally and informally and you will be supported to attend training to progress your career. You will have a driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
