Newark Day Service is a busy day centre and this is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a very productive team in a very new building. You will be working with a diverse group of individuals (staff and people attending the day service) on a daily basis. You will be the first port of call for anyone telephoning or visiting the centre, which could be family members, carers, or contractors so you must be able to demonstrate excellent customer care skills, communicate effectively at all times and ensure you always maintain confidentiality.

Your daily duties will include working closely with the day service leaders and staff team, supporting them with any operational tasks and using electronic systems to ensure that daily attendance and activities of day centre users are recorded accurately. You will also undertake financial tasks, involving banking, budget monitoring and making and recording payments from petty cash and process payments, travel claims and absences for staff through to payroll.

You must have excellent word processing skills, be competent in the use of spreadsheets and be able to compile statistics and provide management information. You must be able to work flexibly and on your own initiative but also work in conjunction with the Business Support Administrators at the Ollerton site and provide cross cover on occasions.

You must have an awareness of and commitment to Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety issues.

Please note that Newark Day Services closes for two weeks, late July/early August each year.
