Independent Living Coordinator

Rushcliffe Community & Voluntary Service (RCVS) provides a range of services to older and vulnerable people to help them remain independent at home. These include the voluntary transport scheme and Handy Housekeepers home support service.

The voluntary transport scheme provides a door to door transport service to over 400 people in Rushcliffe & Gedling. The scheme is open to anyone in the area who finds it difficult to access suitable transport. The service is provided by volunteer drivers.

The Handy Housekeepers home support service offers fully insured, DBS checked caring staff to undertake general housework, shopping and laundry at people’s homes to support independent living. Our goal is to provide excellent home support to those that need it.

The new worker will work closely with the other service coordinators to organise, promote and develop the services, recruit and support volunteer drivers and staff, and be the main point of contact for registered and new users of our services. We need someone with excellent people skills who has a good understanding of the needs of older people and who has a strong commitment to providing a first class service. The post holder must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. You will have good IT skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
