Breakfast Club Playworker
Hours: 5 hours 50 minutes per week, Monday – Friday 7.40-8.50am
Mapperley Plains Primary School offers a Breakfast Club to pupils from the school term time only.
We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic playworker with experience of working with school-aged children. The appointment is to start in the Spring Term Monday 7th January 2019.
Working 5 hours 50 minutes per week, Monday-Friday 7.40-8.50am you will be committed to providing outstanding childcare and play opportunities for children.
Job Description
Core requirements of the post –
Applicants must have relevant experience of working in a school or playgroup environment.
The successful candidate will be of a cheerful and calm nature and like early morning starts!
Certificates/qualifications in Food Hygiene, First Aid and Children’s Play would be an advantage, although training will be provided.
To assist in the day to day organisation of play opportunities as part of the Breakfast Club.
To include -
Providing a safe, creative environment with appropriate play opportunities
Setting up play activities
Joining in with play activities
Directing children to play opportunities
Take part in activity planning sessions
Provide good interaction with the children both during indoor activities and during outdoor play
Providing full care for all children, this could include helping with the provision of breakfast
Set up and put away equipment and resources
Set up and put away tables and chairs
Administering basic first aid as appropriate
Encourage parental involvement and support
Carry out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework
Working within all agreed policies and procedures
Access training when it becomes available and as required
Any other duties that are deemed reasonable
Application requirements:

- You must hold QTS or a UK recognised teaching qualification
