Teaching Assistant

1:1 Teaching Assistant 

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time only

The staff, governors and children of Worksop Priory C of E Primary Academy are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with high-level needs in our mainstream primary setting. The role involves working within our KS2 classroom environment, implementing an individual programme of support to address the child’s special educational needs and enable access to a broad and balanced curriculum.

We are seeking a candidate who: 

• Has experience of working with children with SEN
• Has an understanding of Autism
• Has a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Is able to show initiative, creativity and resilience
• Is a strong team player, willing to go the extra mile
• Demonstrates a good standard of written and spoken English
• Understands the importance of the learning environments, both indoors and outdoors and what outstanding examples look like 

Applicants are asked to make an appointment to meet the Head of School, Mrs Sue Rawson, for an informal visit of the school. Further information about the post can be obtained at this point. A number of appointments out of school hours are available.

As this role involves working with children, using the County Safer Recruitment guidelines, all appointments offered within school are subject to the relevant Enhanced DBS checks being completed successfully.

Start date: January 2019 or sooner if possible
