The Public Health division at Nottinghamshire County Council commissions a range of Public Health services and works with other organisations to improve health and wellbeing in the population and reduce health inequalities.

We now have a 12 month vacancy for a Public Health Support Officer, working to support the Covid-19 response and the delivery of the Nottinghamshire Local Outbreak Control Plan.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who is passionate about making a positive difference to the Health and Wellbeing of the people of Nottinghamshire. You will join an aspiring and innovative team which makes positive impacts on the outcomes of people’s health and wellbeing.

As a key responder you will provide support on day to day enquiries, support the activities of Incident Management Teams and the Outbreak Cell.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic officer who is experienced in project management working jointly to achieve shared outcomes in a continually changing environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills are all essential for this fast moving position, as well as the ability to analyse issues and problems and work towards solutions to specific tight deadlines.

Depending on individual circumstances, postholders will be primarily based remotely at home or at County Hall, Nottinghamshire.

This post is also available as a secondment. You must seek approval from your line manager before applying.

Nottinghamshire County Council has a NHS Pension Direction Order in place, which means that we are able to provide ongoing access to the NHS Pension Scheme (NHSPS) where we recruit eligible new joiners to public health roles who are already in the NHSPS.
