Catering Manager

The Sir Donald Bailey Academy is the founding academy of The Forge Trust: a successful multi-academy trust comprising of six primary academies.

Following the retirement of the current post holder after 24 years’ outstanding service, we are currently looking for a creative, approachable and talented Catering Manager, who is passionate about high quality standards and customer satisfaction.

As Catering Manager you will ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of food within the school and be an inspiring Chef who can develop the food service and the team. The Key responsibilities for the role are ordering food, monitoring and managing supplies within a budget, supervising the work of catering staff, ensuring dietary requirements and allergies are catered for and also being responsible for the paperwork for this location. The role also involves the management and development of a community café that is a key element of the trust’s strategy for community engagement.

The successful candidate would have good cooking techniques and the skills to cater for a large number of customers in a school setting. They will be highly organised and calm under pressure, with a strong knowledge of food hygiene (including relevant qualifications) as well as an understanding of health and safety requirements and the managerial skills to ensure these are maintained.
