This is a 2 year fixed term contract available until 31st March 2018, as a career development opportunity, for an experienced OT with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience. Candidates should preferably have experience of working within a Local Government environment, but this is not essential. The post can be applied for as a two year secondment opportunity, but prior manager approval will be required. 

Primarily based in Arnold you will be a member of the ICELS Partnership Support Team working with the ICELS Partnership Manager, lead commissioners, prescribers and the ICELS service provider (British Red Cross). You will be willing to work in a range of environments including community settings and ICELS equipment stores (located in Bilborough and Ollerton). You will be comfortable with working flexibly and across a wide geographical area (Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County). You will work with a wide range of health and social care organisations and be proactive in leading change and promoting new ways of working.

You will be a self motivated and flexible person that is looking for a new and exciting challenge. You will be the primary OT within ICELS responsible for continuing the ongoing development of the Minor Adaptations Service. You will also contribute to the implementation of changes to practice and service protocols. The main key responsibilities will include; assisting with training of prescribers; reviewing and advising on Minor Adapts orders; linking into the ICELS Partnership Team; working with the Service contractors; identifying alternative ways of working and solutions; maintaining the order database; highlighting patterns or areas for development. 

As part of this you will need to challenge prescribers, providing support and guidance to ensure prescribers meet and adhere to service protocols.

You will also support the ICELS Partnership Manager in implementing ICELS targets and objectives and achieve cost efficiencies. 

You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to make effective clinical decisions and recommendations. You will be confident in your approach to dealing with challenging situations and negotiating positive outcomes. You will be competent in the use of IT and reporting management information, including statistical data. The post is jointly funded by health and social care Partners, will be managed by the ICELS Partnership Manager and report to the ICELS Lead Clinician OT for professional support and supervision.
