The Head teacher and governors of Orchard primary School wish to appoint a hardworking, inspirational leader, who is an outstanding and creative practitioner, to join our dedicated team of teaching staff in our forward-looking, popular and successful family school. We are looking for a Deputy Head teacher, who can lead by example and has the passion and ambition to drive forward positive change as we build on the outstanding foundations already in place.

This is a permanent, full time post, paid on leadership scale L8 - L12 

The person we are looking for will:-

  • Have a proven track record as an outstanding teacher
  • Have teaching experience across the primary age range
  • Be able to drive teaching and learning forward with a clear focus on the “whole child”
  • Understand the importance of pupils’ well-being and personal growth in achieving their full potential
  • Have a strong commitment to providing pupils with an exciting curriculum full of rich learning experiences
  • Be able to support the Head teacher and staff in delivering the school’s vision
  • Have high expectations of themselves, colleagues and pupils.
  • Have a proven ability to mentor, support and challenge staff in developing their roles in order to build on our outstanding teaching and learning
  • Have an excellent understanding of assessment and use this to drive improvement planning and high attainment
  • Have the ability and commitment to work with all stakeholders
  • Have a proven record of leadership within the primary setting
