The Public Health division at Nottinghamshire County Council commissions a range of Public Health services and works with other organisations to improve health and wellbeing in the population and reduce health inequalities.

We now have a vacancy for an experienced public health professional to join our team, whose role will be primarily to work on NHS health checks, cardiovascular disease, cancer and oral health.

Qualified to degree level (or able to demonstrate equivalent qualification through experience), you must have relevant experience in Public Health or related work as well as experience of building partnerships and working collaboratively with others.

You will be a good communicator with well-developed planning and problem-solving skills, highly organised and flexible.

The post holder will be primarily based at County Hall, West Bridgford, Nottingham, but with the option to work flexibly with an alternative base at Meadow House, Mansfield.

Requests for flexible working will be considered.  A job share scheme is also available. Nottinghamshire County Council has a NHS Pension Direction Order in place, which means that we are able to provide ongoing access to the NHS Pension Scheme (NHSPS) where we recruit eligible new joiners to public health roles who are already in the NHSPS.

For an informal discussion about this post, please contact Geoff Hamilton on 0115 9772646.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
