Do you inspire trust in others and form positive relationships with comparative ease?

Are you a values-led practitioner? A team player?

Are you creative, enthusiastic and self-motivated?

Are you passionate about young people and improving their health and wellbeing?

If this describes you then we would very much like to hear from you.

We are seeking to appoint three fixed-term Schools Health Hub Coordinators.

The co-ordinators will work as part of the newly formed Tackling Emerging Threats to Children Team to support schools to identify and tackle health and wellbeing issues for children, young people and families. You will support schools to improve health and wellbeing and educational outcomes resulting in safe, healthy, happy and resilient children and young people who are able to fulfil their potential. You will mainly work on a locality basis in close partnership with schools, School Nurses, Primary Mental Health Workers, Educational Psychology Service and other TETC workers.

You will provide advice and guidance, identify evidence based specialist training and develop curriculum resources to support schools to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people. Areas of responsibility could include building resilience, emotional health and wellbeing, sexual health, healthy relationships, diet and nutrition, physical activity, healthy eating, smoking and tobacco, substance misuse and risk taking behaviours. You will quality-assure the work of external providers of public health/health and wellbeing interventions, and work with schools and providers to embed a financially sustainable model of training delivery in the specified areas.

You will have knowledge of national and local public health and wellbeing priorities in relation to children, young people, families and the wider community and understand current issues which threaten the welfare of children and families in Nottinghamshire. You will have experience of working with other professionals in a variety of settings (e.g. schools, health professionals, local authority staff) and will be able to build effective working relationships. You will also possess a full clean driving licence (unless registered disabled).

Shortlisting will take place at the end of October and interviews will be scheduled in mid-November.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact kerrie.adams@nottscc.gov.uk or telephone 0115 9772198.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
