An exciting opportunity has arisen for three Neighbourhood Co-ordinators to work with communities across Nottinghamshire to develop an age friendly approach to tackling isolation and loneliness.

Age Friendly Nottinghamshire aims to recognise that as people get older, they face increasing challenges and in an age friendly community, where the physical and social environment supports people to age actively can bring huge benefits.

The Neighbourhood Co-ordinators will support communities to find solutions which make a difference to vulnerable people facing isolation and loneliness. An ideal Neighbourhood Co-ordinator will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Have a understanding of the needs of vulnerable people
  • Be committed to people being included in and supported by their communities
  • Enthusiastic about developing community connections
  • Committed to operating in a way which is inclusive, non-discriminatory and promotes equality
  • Good at communicating with a variety of people
  • Skilled in energising and motivating people to work together
  • Flexible in terms of availability and approach to providing support

As a Neighbourhood Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for identifying and mapping community assets and skills in relation to isolation and loneliness alongside mobilising communities to be creative and develop activities which supports social action.

These posts are fixed term for a period of 18 months. Some evening and weekend working will be required
