Inspire’s Community Learning and Skills Service is keen to recruit two enthusiastic and innovative English and maths tutors to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications. Experience in delivering these qualifications is preferred, although training and guidance will be provided.

The course provides opportunities for disadvantaged young people to engage in positive activities that encourage Personal and Social Development. You will need to have the ability to develop constructive professional working relationships and understand some of the issues facing young people in today’s society.

You will be required to work Monday to Friday, delivering maths and English to young people aged 16 to 19 who may have learning difficulties or disabilities, or behavioural issues. You need to be qualified to at least grade A-C in GCSE English and maths (or equivalent) and be able to deliver maths and/or English to GCSE level. You will hold a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, DTLLS or equivalent) or be willing to work towards one.

You will be based at Sutton in Ashfield and will be required to travel to some of our centres at Retford, Ollerton, Newark, Mansfield, Eastwood or Stapleford, dependant on need. Your home location will be considered in this allocation.

For further information, please contact Simon Cook on 01623 476830.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
