There has never been a better time to join Nottinghamshire County Council’s Adult Social Care team.

In order to meet increasing demand for care and support services and our obligations as set out in the Care Act 2014, Nottinghamshire is seeking to employ a significant number temporary Occupational Therapists on its “Register” to join our Adult Social Care Teams.

These vacancies span across the whole of Nottinghamshire and include working alongside our community older and younger adults, learning disability and hospital based teams.

We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated Occupational Therapists who want to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable adults. You will need to be qualified and registered with HCPC or have applied for registration: you will be required to manage complex cases, including those requiring complicated equipment; and major structural adaptations that keep people and their carers safe. Candidates will need to be able to apply advanced knowledge of a wide range of policies in reflective evidence based practice.

Applications are welcomed from both newly qualified and experienced Occupational Therapists. In return for your commitment, you will be provided with a comprehensive induction programme, access to training, and other professional development opportunities to enable them to fulfil their role, raise their competency level and progress their career. You will be provided with regular support and supervision from a senior practitioner and a team manager and have access to the department’s policies and procedures

We have mobilised our social care teams which means that employees are issued with tablet devices to enable them to work more flexibly and reduce overall travel time. We are currently undergoing a Programme of Transformation to ensure we are a modern workplace and are able to respond quickly to changes within the sector.

Our priority is to provide a good quality social care service to Nottinghamshire residents, in particular focussing on:

  • Promoting independence and wellbeing
  • Ensuring value for money
  • Promoting choice and control

In return for great candidates, we offer generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working and learning and development opportunities.

Please refer to competencies Tier 7b.

We are holding interview panels for these posts every two weeks. Your submitted application will be reviewed as soon as we receive it for consideration at our next panel.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
