The department has undertaken a review of its safeguarding quality assurance framework and auditing activities which has led to an investment in ongoing improvement to Adult Safeguarding Practice.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Safeguarding Manager to lead a comprehensive quality assurance programme in relation to safeguarding adults. This will include the co-ordination of case work audit, service user feedback and the management, oversight and support of complex safeguarding work.

You will be instrumental in identifying good practice as well as areas for development and providing targeted support and guidance to teams where learning needs are evident. You will undertake Safeguarding Capability reviews with Team Managers. You alongside the Strategic Safeguarding team will collate the data from the audits completed to ascertain common themes across all service areas and use this information to facilitate continued learning and development.

The local authority is committed to Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) and wishes to seek continued assurance that any safeguarding interventions are in line with the wishes of the adult at risk and support resolution which enhances involvement, choice and control and improves quality of life, wellbeing and safety.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a strong advocate of MSP and you will need significant safeguarding experience and excellent communication skills, with a track record of embracing and implementing change. You will need to have a positive outlook and the enthusiasm to drive forward this exciting and influential agenda. The post holder will be supported by a full time business support officer.

The post is for 3 years in the first instance. The post holder will be line managed by Paul Johnson group Manager younger adults, with some accountability to the group manager access and safeguarding with close working relationships with the Strategic Safeguarding Team.
